S1.21 Creating our Landscape

Lesson Summary

In this lesson, we covered:

  • Creating a landscape for the level.
  • Adjusting the landscape settings.
  • Creating and visualizing our level.

What did we do?

Landscape Creation

  • Navigate to the Select Mode panel, and choose the Landscape Mode (Shift + 2).
  • Leave the default settings for the landscape, but change the Sections per Component to 2x2 Sections.
  • Click on Create to generate the landscape.

Deleting previous actors

  • Go back to the Select Mode (Shift + 1).
  • Hide the sections covering the actors we want to delete with the hotkey H.
  • Select and delete the actors by using the hotkey Delete, or by right-clicking on them and choosing Edit → Delete.
  • Show all actors by using the hotkey Ctrl + H.

Create the level

  • Follow the instructions in the video to create the same or a different level.

Viewport Modes

Swap the Viewport Mode to the Select Mode: Shift + 1

Swap the Viewport Mode to the Landscape Mode: Shift + 2

Actor manipulation

Hide selected actors: H

Show all actors: Ctrl + H

Delete selected actors: Del

Snap Actor to the Ground: End
