S1.01 Create your first project

In this video, we are using Unreal Engine version 5.0, but we recommend that you choose the latest one.

If your project is already in the 5.0 version of the engine, don't worry. In section 11, we will upgrade it to the latest version of Unreal Engine.

  • Install the Epic Games launcher
  • Once the launcher is installed, open it and in the Unreal Engine Library tab, click on the plus button and choose the desired version of Unreal Engine to install. Try to choose a location that is not inside an external hard drive, as this can lead to performance issues.

  • Select Blueprint project.
  • Set the target platform to Desktop and adjust the quality settings as desired, in our case Maximum.
